INFO FOR PARENTS

At WMBC, we feel that it's our duty to the children, families, and the volunteer staff that we offer transparency in our policies, and proper communication of our procedures.

The following, outlines our process in 5 parts.

Screening

At WMBC, we take precautions to ensure the safety and health of your child. For involvement in Children/Youth ministry we expect the following actions:

  • Compliance with Safe Ministry Policy must be confirmed by overseeing staff person at the beginning of the service period.

  • Submission and entry of Safe Ministry Policy paperwork (Criminial Record Check Every 3 Years, Statement of Faith) to main office.

  • Lack of compliance within 30 days (or before service period) will result in service suspension.

Registration

In addition to general registration information for minors participating in our programs we recommend the following additions as policy.

  • consent for medical release

  • photo consent

  • disclosure of any mental health concerns

Incident Reporting

What is an incident? The term incident can be defined as an occurrence, condition, or situation arising within the ministry WMBC, that resulted in or could have resulted in injuries, illnesses, damage to health, or fatalities. We recommend the following actions:

​

  • report incident to leader(s) in charge

  • make parents aware of the situation

  • fill out an incident report

  • meet with involved parties to resolve and take any necessary actions

Information

In order to give parents peace of mind when enrolling their children in our programs it is important that we offer transparency. We plan to provide the necessary informations so parents can have peace of mind when erolling their children in our programs. At our info meetings we plan to give:

​

  • an overview of our screening process

  • a general outline of curriculum

  • safe Ministry Policy

  • incident Reporting Protocol

​

Education

As the saying goes, leaders are readers. As we learn and educate ourselves, we plan to pass that information onto you so that you can feel good about the growth and development of your children.
